This breeder upon the birth of each litter obtains AKC litter registrations. All AKC registration applications for each pup will be sent to each new pup owner upon notification the puppy has reached its new home. This confirmation can be communicated by Email or regular postal but must be in writing.The type of registration given to the buyers will be indicated by the check on the appropriate line below.
____LIMITED AKC REGISTATION: This puppy is being sold with LIMITED registration only. It is understood to the buyer that this pup will have the proper AKC registration number/papers, however, he or she WILL NOT have breeding rights. Therefore, this puppy will be NOT be authorized to register any of its future heirs unless agreed upon in writing and certified by the seller.
____FULL AKC REGISTATION; This puppy is being sold with a full AKC registration which allows the “buyer” full rights as owner for naming, breeding, and reselling accept for specific actions stated below in this contract.
RIGHT TO FIRST REFUSAL: The buyer agrees to not place this animal in an animal shelter, animal rescue, and agrees to NOT using this animal for testing in animal research in anyway. If the buyer chooses to relinquish this pup, at any time, the seller named in this contract has right of first refusal.
NOTE TO BUYER OF GOOD FAITH: All canines have the potential for genetic or congenital diseases. Due to the nature of particular diseases. It is the job of the breeder, through selective breeding, to try and minimize the possibility of these conditions -- in good faith. Please read, to your full understanding, the following sections of this contract concerning any contagious or hereditary defects.
CONTAGIOUS ILLNESS: To the best of the seller's knowledge, this dog has no known diseases or illnesses that would adversely affect this dog's health. The buyer has 72 hours to bring this pup to a licensed veterinarian for a well check up and any necessary shots. This puppy/dog is guaranteed to be free of contagious diseases for 10-days, from the date of sale (arrival at the buyers address). In order for this guarantee to be valid, a veterinarian must examine this puppy within 72 hours of possession. Sometimes, relocation and/or travel a new pup can stress a puppies immune system and an upset stomach or not eating properly for a few days can be a common symptom of being separated from the litter as well as the travel.. We feel that foreknowledge is our/your best weapon against these "unforeseen enemies". Our dogs and puppies are checked for these unforeseen enemies regularly and have been wormed and vaccinated as recommended for puppies of this age. However, do not let it surprise you if your puppy may need to be wormed this condition is very common with puppies and simply needs attention not only as a puppy but through your dogs entire life as well. We do require that ALL new pup owners follow up with vet checks, again, shortly after the receiving /picking up their pups in an effort to assure the welfare of the pup.
The seller assumes NO responsibility or liability for any incurred vet bills, under any circumstances for this puppy. If this puppy is found to be hereditably ill, then a letter from a licensed vet stating so must be presented to the seller within the 10-day period. If the case of illness or threatening health condition does arise, the puppy will be returned to seller within the 10-day period and a refund for the sale price for the pup would be given to the buyer at that time, thus ending this contract entirely. This refund does NOT include ANY expenses incurred to the buyer or by the buyer's veterinarian, legal fee, or etc.
HIPS AND EYES: Golden retrievers fall under the category medium/large breed dogs. All medium to large breed dogs run a risk of certain structural disorders, such as dysplasia. Fortunately, with the use of careful and selective breeding, the risk of these conditions are greatly reduced, however, they cannot be always eliminated. This pup is guaranteed for Two (2) years against any hip/elbow dysplasia (moderate or greater), or cataract condition. If a structural condition - as mentioned - does arise, we do CHOOSE to replace that pup. The breeder reserves the right to a second opinion of breeder's choice. Therefore, if this dog should exhibit these already mentioned conditions, prior to his or her second birth year date, the buyer may get a replacement pup of equal value, following the return of this pup to the seller, and when the seller has another litter available to make this possible. Under no circumstances is the seller to be held liable for all/any veterinarian or other expenses incurred by the buyer.
VOIDING OF CONTRACT will occur if....
1] ... If the buyer allows this dog to become obese, at any time. Recent research does contend that obesity can greatly contribute, if not actually be a cause of hip and joint problems in large breed dogs. Although these disorders tend to be hereditary, poor diet, over feeding, or improper exercising of a pup is a known contributor to these disorders.
2] ...If there are any signs of neglect or abuse to this dog.
3] ...If injuries occurred while under care of new owner (seller), such as broken bone, trauma, etc.
4] ...If the buyer does not follow through with shot requirements and vet visits in timely fashion.
5] ...If the buyer does not feed this dog a recommended premium quality dog food. Low-quality dog food is a sure way to malnourish or adversely affect the development of a puppy. While he or she may appear to be at his or her appropriate weight and age, low-quality dog foods fail to supply the necessary proteins and nutrients required for proper growth of a puppy or dog. This seller strongly urges the buyer to feed this puppy only a high quality dog food.
6] ... If there is any evidence of abusive exercising such as tread mill or track running. While the seller DOES want this dog to play SENSIBLY, it is required to be in reasonable manner, as not to do serious damage to joints and bones through excessive exercise.
7] Table scraps are greatly appreciated by your pup, BUT they are NOT appropriate, encouraged, nor permitted for this animal because of overloading fat. However, a home cooked meal of chicken rice and certain veggies is allowed/recommended for your pup.
8] Puppies - until 20 weeks - should be allowed to eat everything (dog food) that they can eat within 20-30 minutes, three times a day.
9] By signing this contract the buyer acknowledges having read and understanding the terms of this agreement.
AGREEMENT BETWEEN PARTIES: All parties agree by signature to follow the above terms of this agreement. This contract contains the entire agreement between parties. Any changes to this contract must be binding through signature only, and not on verbal agreement. Verbal changes will NOT be considered legal or binding to this buyer or seller. NO legal fees shall be incurred to the seller or the buyer, other than those already listed or stated in this contract.
